    Creativity for Kindness

Calling All Artists…get creative and unleash your inner artist at our Paint Night: Kindness Matters event on Friday, May 19th. Let your art come alive with color, creativity, and meaning with the theme "Kindness Matters," which pays homage to the message of Rachel's Challenge. This nonprofit is dedicated to Columbine victim Rachel Scott's legacy of kindness and the mission of the Friends of Rachel Club to start and sustain a chain reaction of kindness and compassion that transforms schools and communities.

As an artist, you know intuitively that creating a visual image through any medium can produce physical and emotional benefits for you, the creator, as well as those who view it. This healing power of art and the positive way it can express emotions and diminish negative feelings is what our Paint Night is all about. In the spirit of Rachel's Challenge, the event will inspire, uplift, and encourage simple acts of kindness, with the ultimate goal of creating and inspiring chain reactions of kindness through art.

An Evening of Color, Creativity & Meaning

This fun, interactive visual art event starts at 5:30 p.m. with a gathering of art supplies, followed by a painting session from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Join our master artists and visual art instructors, Kelly Garabadian and Gerald Knall, as they walk you through everything you'll need to know, from how to mix paint colors to what sort of brush strokes to use, as they show you how to go from a blank canvas to a completed work of art in just two hours. It's a great opportunity to gather with friends and create a painting in a relaxing, stress-free, zero-pressure environment.

Our Paint Night is free and open to all BVT students, staff, and our community. But space is limited to the first 50 people (ages 14+) who sign up, so register today

  • Tips for Paint Night
    • Arrive 30 minutes early (5:30 p.m.) to select a seat, gather your art supplies, and enjoy
a bit of downtime with your friends before the painting session begins.
    • Although we'll provide a painting smock, things can sometimes get messy. Consider
wearing comfy clothes you don't mind getting paint on.
    • During the evening, connect with fellow artists and share your love of art.
    • Don't forget to bring your curiosity and creativity.
    • And of course, have fun!
