Construction Technology
Construction Technology offers training for students who want to develop their natural talents and interest in building and construction. Immersed in this diverse career path, students learn to apply the skills taught within our construction technology laboratory. Instruction in commercial and residential construction and remodeling prepares our students to participate in real-world off-site construction projects and on-campus renovations. With safety in mind, hands-on experience is gained by using state-of-the-art power and specialized tools, such as shapers, CNC routers, radial arm saws, planers, jointers, and oscillating sanders. Students build confidence and develop attention to detail while becoming knowledgeable in modern methods and styles of construction.

Hands-on Projects
Community Outreach: Many of our students learn best by doing. So what better way to get real-world experience than to lend a helping hand to our community. Participating in community projects is a major part of the senior curriculum. Students work within the Blackstone Valley on a variety of framing, insulation, drywall, concrete work, window installation, and finishing detail projects. These projects have included renovations of the Alternatives Unlimited Complex in Northbridge and the Millville Town Hall. These community projects allow students an opportunity to experience a live construction site and sharpen their skills while learning local and state codes and regulations associated with residential and commercial buildings.
Woodworking: From custom-made cabinetry and furniture to unique hand-turned wooden bowls, molding, and trim, woodworking is the fine art of the construction trade. Students work on a variety of woodworking projects to polish their skills in milling, sizing, designing, installing, and finishing. Utilizing a CAD program for their cabinetmaking and woodworking projects allows them to practice with industry-standard equipment and more modern methods of design.
