Nurse Taking a Student's Temperature

Welcome to Our Nurse's Office!

It’s our goal to advance the well-being, academic success,  lifelong achievement and health of our students. In doing so, we encourage our students to get adequate rest and start their day with a healthy breakfast before school because there is a strong relationship between the health and welfare of a child and the readiness to learn during the school day.

However, we understand that students get sick, and we are here for your child when they get sick during the school day. We ask our students to report to the school nurses’ office before calling or texting a parent to come to get them or leaving school on their own.

Our nurses will assess your child’s illness and contact parents/guardians to take their child home if, in the professional opinion of our school nurses, the child is unable to participate in school activities or may put other students and staff at risk for illness. Please have a plan in place to pick up your child in case he/she needs to be dismissed from school.

Our nurses provide the following health services, as well as assistance with many other health-related problems and questions your child might have:
  • Assessment & Management of Acute Illness/Injury
  • Administer First Aid and Emergency Care
  • Health Screening: Hearing, Vision, Height/Weight/BMI, and SBIRT
  • Health Counseling

Parents/guardians play a major role in the health and well-being of their own children. We believe it’s important for our school nurses and parents to work together to provide a healthy learning experience for their teen. Parents can assist by:
  • Sending in completed health forms
  • Updating emergency telephone numbers and contacts
  • Obtaining immunizations and physicals yearly as required
  • Communicating any health concerns you have about your teen with our school nurses

Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions.
