Clothing & Toiletries
Sporty's Closet
The BVT Student Council collects clothing and toiletries to be distributed through Sporty's Closet to BVT students in need. To donate or receive items from Sporty's Closet, please contact your school counselor.
Dental Care
Give Kids A Smile
Thanks to the efforts of our Dental Assisting students and staff, BVT is a proud participant in the American Dental Association's annual Give Kids A Smile program. During this one-day event, dental professionals across the country volunteer their time to provide free services to children who do not have access to dental care.
BVT will provide participating students transportation to and from an off-campus oral health center, where free dental care will be prioritized according to treatment needs. If a student has dental insurance, the insurance company will be charged, and the participating oral health center will absorb any remaining balance.

Fee Waivers for Standardized Testing & College Applications
College Application Fee Waivers
Students participating in the free & reduced meals program are eligible to receive college application fee waivers. Please contact your school counselor for more information.
PSAT Fee Waivers
Students participating in the free & reduced meals program are eligible to receive a PSAT fee waiver on a first-come, first-served basis when registering for the PSAT in the Business Office.
ACT/SAT Fee Waivers
Students participating in the free & reduced meals program are eligible to receive a fee waiver for the ACT and/or SAT on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact your school counselor for more information.
Food
Free and Reduced Meals Program BVT offers free and reduced meals to eligible students. The Business Office can provide you with more information about the school lunch program.
Food Pantry The School Based Health Center provides food from the food pantry to families of BVT students in need. Please contact Brooke Cook at 508–529–7758 x3702 to find out more about participating in this program.
Project Bread Project Bread is an organization "committed to providing of all ages, cultures, and walks of life with access to nutritious food." Resources include a FoodSource Hotline, assistance with getting SNAP (food stamp) and/or WIC (nutrition and health services for women, infants, and children) benefits, and more.

Holiday Support
Annual Turkey Drive
Our Student Council raises money each November to purchase grocery store gift cards to support our families in need. The gift cards are free and will help families of our students to buy all the fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Participation in this program is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If your family needs a gift card or you would like to donate to this program, please contact your teen's school counselor.
Holiday Gift Drive
Our Student Council raises money each December to purchase holiday gifts for BVT students in need and their families. Participation in this program is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to donate to the Student Council in support of this program or would like to inquire about participating in this program, please contact your teen's school counselor.
Homelessness
McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act
Homelessness is defined as youth who lack a regular, adequate, and fixed nighttime residence, including youth who share housing with other persons due to loss of housing or economic hardship; youth living in emergency or transitional shelters; youth living in motels, campgrounds, trailer parks, etc., as well as unaccompanied youth. BVT is committed to ensuring continued enrollment, attendance, and the opportunity to succeed in school for homeless youth. Please contact our McKinney-Vento Homelessness Coordinator Assistant Principal Matthew Urquhart for more information regarding services for homeless students or read the attached information for parents in English or Spanish.

Winter Energy Assistance
Fuel Assistance for Winter
Will you have enough fuel this winter? The Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development offers a Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) or fuel assistance. This program assists low-income families with the cost of heating their homes by paying a portion of their winter heating bill. The program operates from November 1st - April 30th and is available to both renters and homeowners. Benefit amounts vary according to income level.
Heating System Repair and Replacement
Is your heating system operational? HEARTWAP is a program that provides free heating system repair and replacement to tenants and homeowners that are eligible for LIHEAP. The program is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development and operates year-round.
Weatherization Assistance
Is your home buttoned-up for winter? The Weatherization Assistance Program provides energy efficiency services that are designed to reduce home heating bills. WAP is a year-round program funded by the Department of Energy that serves households that are eligible for LIHEAP or who receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families or Supplemental Security Income. All work is done at no cost to the client.
