Dear Parent/Guardian,
In a continued effort to keep BVT a healthy environment during the emerging flu season, we are offering a flu vaccination clinic for our students on Friday, October 10th. This voluntary program is available through our School Based Health Center, affiliated with UMass Memorial Health – Milford Regional Medical Center.

Please note that this is not a mandatory program. If you are not interested in having your teen participate, do not return the form, and your teen will not receive the vaccine. If you are interested in having your teen participate, please print, complete, and have them return the required Flu Insurance and Consent Information Form to the Main Office by Friday, October 3rd. If no insurance information is available, your teen will still receive a vaccine. Your teen must also have a completed School Based Health Center Permission Form on file to receive the vaccine. If it is not on file, please print and e-mail the completed form to Bradley Alicchio at balicchio@valleytech.k12.ma.us.

In addition to our voluntary vaccination program and our vigilant efforts to minimize the spread of germs through daily disinfecting of surface areas, I ask your assistance in encouraging your teen to take preventative steps to ward off the flu and other seasonal illnesses. Please continue to remind them that handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, and refraining from sharing food and beverages can minimize exposure. Additionally, please encourage them to use the hand sanitizer stations accessible at various locations in and around the building.

Our school nurses and our School Based Health Center will continue to work closely with our local, state, and federal agencies in planning for the upcoming flu season. For more information about the 2024–2025 flu season, please visit the CDC website and our flu clinic page. Thank you for your support in keeping our community healthy.

Sincerely,

Michele S. Denise
