SAT & ACT
What are your post-graduation plans? If the answer is a four-year college, please note that submitting Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Testing (ACT) scores are a common admissions requirement. Not sure which exam to take? Go to the SAT and ACT websites to research the exams and try some practice questions. You may also opt to take both exams in the spring of your junior year in order to determine which exam works best for you. In the fall of your senior year, you may also decide to take one of these exams again in hopes of boosting your scores.
SAT
Students considering a four-year college typically take the SAT once in the spring of their junior year and once in the fall of their senior year. The SAT is a standardized test administered by the College Board and is widely used for college admissions and scholarships. It includes an Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section and a Math section. There is also an optional Writing section.
The SAT is offered several times throughout the school year. Juniors typically take the SAT in March, May, or June. Seniors typically take the test in August, October, November, or December. Please note the following:

- After the exam, it will take about three weeks for the College Board to grade your exam and post your SAT scores online.
- Once your exam is graded and your order has been submitted, it will take approximately one to two weeks for SAT scores to be delivered to a college.
- College Board defaults to sending all of your available score reports at the time you make the request. If for some reason you would like to only send one set of SAT scores, you can use their Score Choice option.
