College Placement Exams
The College Board connects and prepares you for a successful transition into college through programs and services in college readiness and college success. But how do colleges know what courses are the best fit for freshmen students? Some require a placement test before registering for classes.
What is on a college placement exam?
Students may be tested in subject areas, such as English and Math, in order to help determine their academic skills.
If you're curious what a typical college placement exam looks like, check out the Accuplacer, a standardized test administered by the College Board. This sample exam assesses Math, Reading, and English.
Students who are unsure whether they need to take a placement test or how to schedule an exam should contact their college’s admissions office. Please note that BVT does not administer college placement tests on campus.
