Vocational ProgramsBVT has always been known for meeting the rigorous and relevant standards of modern industry with its rich offering of career vocational-technical shops. We've created 18 modern vocational shops under 3 pathways: Service, Technology, and Construction. Each shop is equipped with state-of-the-art tools and equipment that provide our students with industry experience and skills to prepare them for the present and future developments of their trades.Service Pathways• Business & Entrepreneurship (Closing in Spring 2022, no longer taking enrollment.)Construction Pathways
The curriculum is continuously updated, and our teachers remain current on the latest technology and requirements in each field. All students earn an OSHA 10 safety card upon graduation, and all vocational programs provide either an industry-recognized certificate or certified trade hours towards state licensure.
Articulation AgreementsBVT has multiple articulation agreements designed to provide college credit to students who attend matching programs at the post-secondary level. Our vocational and academic programs are aligned with over 20 colleges and post-secondary institutions that recognize the rigor of our curriculum and the skills our graduates acquire.
Shop Safety & Clothing Requirements
The safety of our students is our number one priority. In the beginning of the school year, all students are provided with one pair of safety glasses. If students want additional pairs of glasses, they can be purchased at the school store or in the Main Office. Other safety procedures and clothing requirements are created and enforced based on specific safety concerns in each shop.
At the beginning of the school year, BVT will provide each freshman with a 100% cotton t-shirt with the BVT logo. While in Exploratory, students are expected to wear their BVT t-shirt and closed toed, leather shoes. If students want additional t-shirts, they can be purchased at the school store.
Due to different safety concerns, our students in select programs are required to wear a specific uniform* while in shop. If your child is in the Auto Collision and Repair, Automotive Technology, HVAC/R, Electrical, Manufacturing Technology, or Plumbing shops and you plan to purchase your child’s uniform from another company, be sure that the product is made of 100% cotton for fire safety reasons.
