You can't see a concussion. Signs and symptoms of concussions can show up right after an injury or may not appear until hours or days after the injury. Head injuries require immediate attention.
Cupping therapy is a form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. This is a voluntary treatment option your student-athletes can access with your consent. To prepare your teen for this treatment, you are receiving this proactively for permission to utilize Cupping Therapy by the Blackstone Valley Tech Athletic Trainer.

Dear Parent/Guardian,
The purpose of this letter is to introduce you to Healthy Roster. This electronic medical record system will help improve documentation and communication with our parents/guardians of student-athletes and our coaches. We will plan to use this secure portal to send a student-athlete injury notification and provide status updates from me and our Athletic Department.
You will soon receive an e-mail invitation from no-reply@notifications.healthyroster.com with the subject line: Join Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School on Healthy Roster. Please accept this invitation to create your account. This e-mail is not spam — it allows you to access your student-athlete’s injury updates and communicate directly with our athletic trainer. If you do not receive this e-mail, please contact me at mmclean@valleytech.k12.ma.us.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Consent to Release Information: Please take a moment to complete this short consent questionnaire via our online registration. Completing this allows our nurses and coaches to view injury updates and coordinate care. Consent forms must be renewed each school year.
Privacy: Not every athletic training note will be visible to parents or coaches, as many students come for routine maintenance or long-term injury care. If you’d like full documentation for any visit, please contact me directly.
Accurate Sign-Ins: Student-athletes will be prompted to sign in using a unique ID number before receiving any evaluation or treatment to ensure accurate records in Healthy Roster. The unique ID is your BVT ID number. Parents, please ensure the student ID number is up to date in the Healthy Roster application.
Team Participation: We will upload rosters for each sports season at the point of registration. If your student does not continue or does not make a team, the account may still be active for that season.
Reminder, if an outside physician or orthopedic specialist sees your teen, please provide me with an updated clearance or status note before your student-athlete returns to participation.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in keeping our athletes healthy and informed.
