• Tier 1 – Distance Learning
All students in all grade levels remain at home for distance learning. We will conduct our distance learning in a manner that will easily transition to face-to-face learning in Tier 2-6. Students will follow their academic and vocational schedules.

  • Tier 1 Academic Cycle
    • All grade levels will participate in a full day of classes each day of the week during our
       traditional one-week cycles.

    • All students will follow a full schedule of classes using this bell schedule.

       Bell Schedule 2021-2022 1

    • In this learning model, distance learning is the default mode of instruction for all students,
though some high needs students may still be served in-person, full time, or through a
       hybrid model.

  • Tier 1 Vocational Cycle

    • All grade levels will participate in a full day of shop learning on Monday/Tuesday and
Thursday/Friday with alternating Wednesdays, resulting in a total of five days during the two-week shop period.

    • Vocational cycle students in distance learning will have two 1.5 hour work sessions
       per day.

    • Vocational assignments will be a combination of online live sessions, hands-on projects,
and extended assignments. Students remaining on distance learning will following these
       two sessions:

  • Tier 1 Freshman Exploratory
     *
Within the design of Tiers 2–5, freshmen will be able to participate in our Freshman Exploratory experience. In Tier 1, our traditional Freshman Exploratory is postponed until our students can be back in the building to have a full experience. Instead, our freshmen have no shop requirements on Monday/Tuesday and will have vocational seminars on Thursday/Friday during their shop weeks. That time will be designated for virtual seminars on topics ranging from career exploration, non-traditional careers, student activities, and other issues relative to the transition to BVT.

  • Tier 1 Distance Learning

Distance learning will include "live" instruction in all educational areas for the school year.

    • All assigned academic and shop work will be graded and assessed based on standard
grading expectations associated with being in the classroom and vocational shop.

    • The distance learning schedule will follow the A/B Weeks on our traditional one week cycle.

    • We will track attendance and student participation using iPass as if we were operating
under normal face to face circumstances. Families will be able to utilize their iParent
and iStudent accounts for this information throughout the school year regardless of
which tier we are operating in.

    • Remote academic and vocational work will be in alignment with typical state standards
       utilized during non-COVID times.

    • Student work will be assessed regularly using a customary numerical system and families
will be able to track progress using their iParent and iStudent accounts.

    • Teachers will be utilizing Canvas, Zoom, e-mail, and other technology platforms to
       conduct distance learning.

    • Interpretation and translation services remain available for families in need of those services.
