    Countdown to Graduation
    The third trimester is almost here and the countdown to graduation is on. As a senior, you know it can be a crazy and exciting time in your life; so many things are often happening at once, from after-school activities to planning for what’s to come after graduation. As this school year and your high school career rapidly come to a close, it’s important to take the time to carefully review the multitude of obligations and the high level of expectations we have in place for you during your last trimester.

    We’re always adding new information and deadlines, and all dates and times are subject to change. So, check this page often throughout the third trimester to stay up-to-date and on track with your end-of-school/graduation obligations. You’re almost to graduation. Keep up the good work!

  • Wednesday, March 13th
    SkillsUSA District Competition at BVT
    Our students are honored to compete among the state's most talented vocational-technical students in the annual SkillsUSA competitions. The 2024 season of events starts at BVT on Wednesday, March 13th, with the SkillsUSA District V Competition via online testing. 

    Thursday, March 14th
    College Fair 
    This year's College Fair will pack the Competition Center with admissions personnel from New England's finest colleges, universities, training institutions, and the military. With many students advancing their careers through college or military service, the College Fair will help you weigh all of your options by connecting you with prospective post-secondary schools and U.S. military service members. 

    Tuesday, March 26th & Wednesday, March 27th
    Senior Class Professional Days 
    Seniors, you are working from home these two days to complete scholarship applications and portfolios or working at Co-op. 

    NOTE: Check-ins are required at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. for attendance. Students who do not complete BOTH check-ins will be marked as unexcused absences from school and may be subject to a disciplinary response up to, but not limited to, Saturday school assignments.  

    Friday, April 5th
    Senior Portfolio Due
    You will want to check this to-do item off your list early. Polish up your portfolio and submit it through Canvas, so it stands out in the crowd. Don't forget to present it to your shop teachers by the April 5th deadline.

    Thursday, April 11th
    Career Fair 
    Seniors, mark your calendars. On April 11th, our Career Fair will pack the Competition Center with local and national companies interested in hiring you for co-op positions, as well as long-term and short-term employment. With many of our students wanting to advance their careers in industry, the Career Fair will help you and our sophomores and juniors make a career connection. 

    Wednesday, April 24th
    Last Day to Charge Lunches
    Seniors, don't get stuck in the lunch line without any funds in your lunch account. Check your balance to ensure that money is available in your account before April 24th.

    Note: Balances over $10.00 will automatically be refunded.

    Thursday, April 25th – Saturday, April 27th
    State Skills Competition
    Those students skilled enough to win at the district level will compete at the SkillsUSA State Leadership & Skills Conference Championships. The Leadership Events will be held at the Best Western in Marlborough, and the hands-on competitions at BVT on Friday, April 26th. There will be an awards ceremony on Saturday, April 27th at the Best Western in Marlborough. The awards ceremony is closed to the public. 

    Monday, April 29th – Friday, May 3rd
    Final Shop Exams
    Seniors, your shop final exam is the last chance to show your instructors that they've taught you well. Make them proud! 

    Thursday, May 2nd – Saturday, May 4th
    Senior Culinary Arts Trip
    It's a three-day “foodie tour” of Cape Cod for our seniors in the Culinary Arts program. You're going to have some fun touring farms, wineries, and food factories like a hot sauce maker and a coffee roaster. Of course, eating at a few restaurants, from clam shacks to fine dining resorts, is on the list. YUM!

    Remember, your academic textbooks are due on the day of final exams.

    Advanced Placement Exams
    Are you interested in earning college credits while in high school? Students who earn a qualifying score on an Advanced Placement Exam can receive credit at many colleges and universities. This can be a great head start to your college career.

    Saturday, May 11th
    Junior/Senior Prom
    DCU Center in Worcester – Check-in & Pictures 5:30 p.m., Dinner & Dancing 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
    It's time for the prom! That one special night when girls show off their colorful gowns, boys their smart-looking tuxedos, and friends gather to have fun and dance the night away. Tickets go on sale the week of March 25th for $85.00 each and are sold by the Junior Class. Do you want to bring a guest? Guest forms are available in the Main Office and should be submitted ASAP for approval.

    NOTE: If you plan to attend the Prom, you’ll need to arrive no later than 6:00 p.m. Those who arrive later may be denied entry.

    Monday, May 13th – Friday, May 17th
    Last Week of Shop & Final Exams
    Seniors, your vocational textbooks, tools, and equipment (i.e. Cosmo kits), are all due on the last day of shop. All technology equipment must be returned by May 17th.

    Wednesday, May 15th
    Senior Grades Dues – 2:15 p.m.

    Thursday, May 16th
    Last Day of Co-op 
    All seniors not on Co-op must report to their shops.

    Friday, May 17th
    Career Signing Day Ceremony 

    Monday, May 20th - Wednesday, May 22nd
    Attendance Make-Up Days
    If you've missed any days from school and need to make it up, May 20th through May 22nd are the days to do it.


    Thursday, May 23rd
    Senior Class Trip to Boston
    Explore the historical city by the sea with a waterfront view of the beautiful skyline on a City Cruise. Just steps away is the Faneuil Hall Marketplace, which is alive today as it was in 1742 when our nation’s fathers proclaimed it “The Cradle of Liberty. So much more than a class trip. You and your classmates will gain a deeper understanding of our state's history and Boston's place in the American story.

    Friday, May 24th  
    Senior Checkout Day
    Competition Center – 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
    Can you believe your high school days are almost over? On Senior Checkout Day, you will arrive on campus at a designated time by shops. You will receive your caps and gowns, graduation tickets, and honor society stoles and cords at the time of checkout, but only if all your senior obligations are completed. 

    All senior obligations MUST be met to sign out. Use this handy checklist

    Tuesday, May 28th             
    Senior Class Day
    Competition Center – 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    You've completed all your work! Now it’s time to recognize your accomplishments with class awards and certificate presentations, shop and academic outstanding awards, attendance awards, yearbook superlatives, class advisor presentations, and student performances. Have fun watching a video montage of your time at BVT.

    • You should report to the Competition Center at 9:45 a.m.
    • Remember to wear your class shirt
    • Attendance is required
    • Yearbooks will be distributed at the conclusion of Class Day.

    Memorial Scholarships Night
    Competition Center – 6:00 p.m. 
    Celebrate with your family and friends at the presentation of scholarships and military recognitions.

    • By invitation only
    • You should report to the cafeteria at 5:30 p.m.
    • Proper dress is required
    • Please wear your gown (no honor stoles, medals, cords, or tassels necessary)
    • The ceremony is open to parents, family, and friends of our graduates.

    Wednesday, May 29th    
    Senior Breakfast
    Cafeteria – 9:30 to 10:00 a.m.
    Join all your classmates for a complimentary breakfast buffet and have fun signing your yearbooks before graduation rehearsal.

    Graduation Rehearsal
    Competition Center – 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
    We want to make sure you look good and know just what to do at your graduation ceremony. 

    NOTE: Attendance at rehearsal is mandatory to participate in graduation.

    Thursday, May 30th         
    Class of 2024 Graduation Ceremony 
    The Hanover Theatre, Worcester, MA – 5:00 p.m.
    You did it! Show off your pride by wearing your cap and gown, honor stoles, medals, cords, and tassels at your graduation ceremony.

    • Proper dress is required.
    • Tickets are required for admission to the ceremony.
    • The doors to Hanover Theater will not open until 4:30 p.m. for general admission ticket holders.

    Graduates – Arrival no later than 4:00 p.m.
    • Graduates will be grouped by shops and assigned to specific locations upon arrival.
       Locations for graduate arrival will be assigned during the graduation rehearsal.
    • Students should arrive dressed in their graduation gowns and have with them their
       cap, honor stoles, medals, cords, and tassels.
    Graduation Tickets
    • Each graduate will receive graduation tickets on Friday, May 24th at Senior Checkout Day.
    Graduation Pictures
    • Parents are asked not to leave their seats to take pictures during the ceremony.
    • Morin’s Studios will take professional photos as the graduates accept their
       diplomas and cross the stage. The order form will be given to all the graduates
       at the rehearsal. You can complete the form and return it at graduation or send
       it directly to Morin’s Studio.

  • Helpful Hints for Our Graduates
    Cap & Gown Preparation: To remove wrinkles, hang your gown in the bathroom and steam it out by running a hot shower to create humidity. Ironing is not recommended. 

    Stay Hydrated: Graduates are reminded to eat and drink water prior to the ceremony. The spotlights and gowns can cause warm conditions on the stage.
