• Eligibility for Our Co-Op Program
    Listed below are the eligibility requirements for a student to participate in BVT's Cooperative Education Program. 
    A student must complete an Eligibility Form to initiate the application process. 

     
  • Juniors

    In Your Third Trimester
    Eligibility is based on the following requirements being met during the first two trimesters of junior year:
    • Completion of at least two years in the Vocational Technical program of study
    • Completion of OSHA 10; General Industry or Construction Completion of Employability Portfolio
    • Must meet advanced shop competency requirements
    • Junior year curriculum completed
    • Must be recommended by Vocational-Technical Department Team Leader
    • Minimum grade point average of 85% in Shop and Related
    • Minimum grade point average of 75% for all other subjects
    • All Effort and Conduct grades must be 1 (excellent) or 2 (good)
    • Maximum six unexcused absences during first two trimesters
    • No In or Out of School Suspensions
    • Maximum of two after sessions

    Note: Students who have completed their junior year, and are interested in co-op placement during the summer prior
    to senior year, must satisfy the same eligibility requirements as first trimester seniors.

  • Seniors

    In Your First Trimester
    Eligibility for the Cooperative Education Program is met during the junior year and is based on the following criteria:
    • Completion of at least two years in the Vocational Technical program of study
    • Completion of OSHA 10; General Industry or Construction
    • Completion of Employability Portfolio
    • Must meet advanced shop competency requirements
    • Must be recommended by Vocational-Technical Department Team Leader
    • Junior year final grade point average of 70% or higher in all courses
    • No individual course grade lower than 60% during the third trimester of junior year
    • All Effort and Conduct grades must be 1 (excellent) or 2 (good)
    • Maximum of nine unexcused absences during the junior year  

    In Your Second Trimester
    Eligibility is based on the following requirements during the first trimester of 12th grade:
    • Completion of at least two years in the Vocational Technical program of study
    • Completion of OSHA 10; General Industry or Construction
    • Completion of Employability Portfolio
    • Must be recommended by Vocational-Technical Department Team Leader
    • Must meet advanced shop competency requirements
    • A minimum grade point average of 70% during the 1st trimester in all courses
    • All Effort and Conduct grades must be 1 (excellent) or 2 (good)
    • Maximum three days absent during the 1st trimester
