Applicants interested in applying for admissions must:
- Obtain an Application/TEAS test registration form by downloading the package from the BVRVTHS web site (see link below) or by contacting the postsecondary nursing program office at Blackstone Valley Tech (508-529-7758 x3122).
- Submit the Application/TEAS test registration form and the $100 application fee (in the form of a Money Order or Cash) to the postsecondary nursing program office. (NO PERSONAL CHECKS)
- Applications that remain incomplete for more than 60 days will not be reviewed and not included in the admission process.
- Select an entrance exam testing date: Pre-registration is required. Testing times and dates for the next enrollment period will be available on the Blackstone Valley Tech web site and on the program brochure as well as on the registration form. The computerized entrance exams are given at Blackstone Valley Tech. Students are required to arrive at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School fifteen (15) minutes prior to the start of testing. No student will be admitted to the testing area after the assigned time to begin testing. Testing fee is included in the application fee. Students are advised to prepare in advance for the entrance exam. They may purchase a TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) study manual available from ATI (1.800.667.7531) or go to www.ATItesting.com
The exam must be taken at the Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School, 65 Pleasant Street, Upton MA 01568-1499 and may not be repeated during a program calendar year. Scores from exams taken at other locations are not accepted.

A completed application must include:
- The application to the Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School Practical Nursing Program
- The application essay: Submit a completed 250 word, hand written essay, entitled “What characteristic should a practical nurse working in health care today possess?” The essay is carefully reviewed for content and format
- Three professional references: an immediate supervisor (past or present), an employer (past or present), none may be family members. Suggested references include: co-workers, teachers or counselors or a person with who you may have collaborated on a completed project or community service.
It is highly recommended that applicants attend a one (1) hour information session: You must preregister for information session by calling the nursing program office at (508) 529-7758 ext 3122
Completed applications will be reviewed by the admission committee with priority given to in district qualified candidates. Payment of a $100.00 application fee (which includes the TEAS Test Fee) can be made by cash, certified check, and money order or by Visa and MasterCard credit cards during school business office hours. The application fee is non-refundable.

- A $300 non‐refundable seat reservation fee is not part of the tuition and is payable within 10 business days of the mailing date of an acceptance letter into the Program. A student may elect electronic mail notification of acceptance into the program in addition to the U. S. postal delivery system. Payment of the registration fee ensures your seat in the practical nursing program for the upcoming semester.
- Tuition for the Practical Nursing program will be divided into two equal payments:
*The first tuition payment is due at least 15 working days prior to the start of the 1st
semester (students cannot begin the program until this first payment has is made)
*The balance of the tuition is due by the last day of the first semester.
- Non- payment of tuition in the stated time frame will jeopardize a student’s attendance in the program.
- Tuition and seat registration fees can be made by certified check or money order in the business office, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Tuition and seat registration fees can be made online via Valley Tech’s online payment center. Online payments allow for ACH, MasterCard or Discover transactions. Please note, there is a processing fee for online credit card payments.
- Only the seat registration fee can be paid by Visa or MasterCard in the business office, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
- There will be additional expenses incurred by all students for items such as lab fees, text books, uniforms, nursing equipment and licensure exam.
- Tuition charges are subject to School Committee approval, State Revisions and data provided by the Department of Education. In order to qualify for in-district tuition, an applicant must be a resident of the district for at least six months prior to starting the program and must provide proof of residency by submitting a notarized form from the city/town clerk. In-district includes residents of Bellingham, Blackstone, Douglas, Grafton, Hopedale, Mendon, Milford, Millbury, Millville, Northbridge, Sutton, Upton, and Uxbridge.
